The Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) is a quantification of greenhouse gas emissions, usually expressed in CO2-equivalents, generated during the production of a specific product, including processes and activities over which the company has direct control, as well as those in the supply chain.
The carbon footprint is usually calculated in kilograms or tonnes of CO₂e per year and is assessed using life cycle assessment (LCA) methods.
For the quantification of the carbon footprint, EKO Standard Consult applies the ISO 14067 standard and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
